Photography 101 – Landmark

I am returning to yesterday’s train journey for today’s landmark picture.

As a child the area around Battersea Power Station was dominated by the huge powerhouse. It was decommissioned a while ago and a variety of plans put forward for redevelopment. It has stayed empty and  sadly proud for a long time, but apparently plans are now afoot for something…… who knows if they will be completed.

Taken seconds apart the speed of the train accounts for the obscuring of the building as we head towards the terminus.

  1. I so know this feeling … of seeing something that means ‘you’re there … home!’. Taking the train to my hometown in Sweden, there’s a long, long stretch of just woods — I see nothing — until there’s a tunnel! Then I know we’ve reached the town.
